Wine makes every meal an occasion, every table more elegant, every day more civilized.
- Andre Simon
Casa de Oleiros is one of the oldest and most prestigious Quintas under the "Entre Douro e Minho" designation, which refers to the production center par excellence of Vinho Verde. The roots of its existence are lost in the memory of time, as it has been in the family for several generations. However, it was already known before that, as attested to by manuscripts in an old monastery - the Monastery of the Savior of Travanca - which was built by Benedictine friars.
At that time, the grapes and wine produced there were already known and appreciated by the neighboring populations, where Azal, Arinto and Vinhão are the predominant grape varieties. Initially, the grapes were produced by hand, respecting all the traditions passed down from generation to generation, from parents to children. Today, some of the traditional methods have been maintained, complemented by modern equipment in order to guarantee quality production.
